WELCOME TO KIRSTEN’S CHICKEN WORKSHOPS

Do you want to master the secrets of changing animal behavior quickly, easily and precisely?

You need to train a chicken.

About Me

Hello, my name is Kirsten Kraljevic and I offer workshops using chickens as a model to teach people how to change behavior. My animal training workshops are an intensive experience designed to improve the animal trainer’s mechanical and observational skills as well as principles of Operant Conditioning, using the historically proven tabletop model – the Leghorn Chicken.

Chickens are the perfect models to teach practical principles and practices of training all species because they are simple but not easy.

Whether you work with exotic animals in sanctuaries, zoos, and aquariums or domestic and companion animals, my chicken workshops are designed to make you more confident in your training skills. Sign up with your email address to receive updates and news about upcoming workshops.

Using our chickens, teach yourself how to really see behavior and improve your training success.

Chickens move a lot. They watch and respond to a trainer's movement whether you want them to or not at a much faster rate than dogs and most other animals do.

Successful animal trainers know it is all about timing (When), criteria(What), and rate of reinforcement (How).

If you get these things right, you are limited only by your imagination, the physical constraints of the animal you are working with, and your personal desire to succeed. Our recipe is simple, but not easy. Learn the 5 principles of Operant Conditioning that we teach and how to put them into practice. You will be using the skills that the most successful animal trainers in modern times have used to train animals to do amazing feats over long Distances, for very long Durations of time even surrounded by great Distractions. Finally, understand on a deep and personal level how empowering it is to change yourself and, thus, your animal’s behavior.

Marian Breland Bailey

affectionately known as mouse (December 2, 1920 – September 25, 2001)

Learn the methodology that the Brelands and the Baileys used to train 140 species and thousands of individual animals.

The Brelands and the Baileys experienced success in training 140 different species using 5 principles of Operant Conditioning. In addition, they worked with thousands of individual animals and solved real-world training challenges by understanding the power of timing, criteria, and the rate of reinforcement.

My mentor, Dr. Bob Bailey, always says “There is no magic bullet.” The only things that will bring you the success you deserve in your animal training are repetition, muscle memory, improved observational skills, and a desire to be better off tomorrow than you were today.

Success with applying the principles, and your mechanical skills, will never come from an online class. Hands-on training is now. The opportunity is now. You have to show up and do all the hard work to succeed.

I believe the Chicken training workshops are a life-changing experience. It changed mine. I know it will change yours.

“If you reinforce a behavior, it’s more likely to occur again. If you don’t reinforce it, it’s less likely to occur again. Animals are learning all the time, not just during training sessions. And they’re learning with the same principles, and Operant Conditioning is the way that behavior changes in the real world.”
